SERVICES TAILORED TO YOUR PROJECT

Three levels. One coordinated project.

Choose the services your project requires. Your written Electrical Design Services Proposal identifies the authorized levels, scope, anticipated deliverables, fees and project-specific conditions.

LEVEL 1

Equipment Layout / Quotation Design

Establish the anticipated equipment requirements and the basis for an MEE equipment quotation.

  • Preliminary equipment locations and configurations
  • Basic circuit assignments and preliminary transformer sizing
  • General equipment schedules and breaker quantities and ratings
  • Preliminary layouts and budgetary equipment pricing

Developed from the project layout, electrical requirements, utility information and other information you provide.

LEVEL 2

Detailed Electrical Design

Develop the approved equipment layout into a detailed electrical distribution design.

  • Demand calculations and transformer and panel sizing
  • Feeder, branch-circuit, conductor and cable sizing
  • Voltage-drop calculations and schedules
  • Ground-fault protection, disconnects and applicable emergency disconnect requirements
  • Detailed layouts, equipment coordination and expansion allowances

LEVEL 3

Construction & Support

Prepare final project documentation and provide design support for the authorized project scope.

  • One-line and final electrical distribution drawings
  • Construction-level layouts and finalized schedules
  • Reasonable design-related construction support
  • Coordination with authorized contractors, engineers and project representatives
  • Other documentation identified in your proposal

The items above illustrate potential services; your proposal defines the actual deliverables and authorized uses. PE-sealed documents are available through a qualified third-party Professional Engineer for an additional approved fee unless expressly included in the proposal.

Project-specific scope. Clearly defined fees.

Design fees reflect the project’s scope and complexity, anticipated effort, associated equipment package and authorized service levels. MEE provides a written proposal for your approval before commencing electrical design services.

Preliminary sales consultation helps us evaluate your requirements, establish the anticipated scope and prepare that proposal.

Approved open-account customers generally receive 2/15 Net 30 terms unless otherwise stated. Customers without approved credit must pay the applicable design fee before the authorized level begins.

Put eligible design fees toward your equipment purchase.

100% of eligible fees paid

When expressly included in your proposal, eligible design fees can be credited toward the associated MEE equipment package if MEE receives your equipment purchase order within the applicable 12-month period. The period runs from the most recent invoice for credit-eligible design services on the same project. Credits are project-specific, non-transferable and have no cash or refund value. Additional services and licensing fees are generally excluded; customer-driven revisions or scope changes do not restart the period unless MEE approves otherwise in writing.

How your project moves forward

01

Share your requirements

Provide your site layout, anticipated loads, utility information and project goals.

02

Authorize your proposal

Review the scope, deliverables, fees, payment terms and any available design-fee credit.

03

Review each design level

Approve the completed level as the basis for further development. Each subsequent level requires written authorization.

04

Coordinate the next stage

Proceed with the authorized equipment package, final documentation and project support.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before design begins

What revisions are included?

Unless your proposal states otherwise, each authorized design level includes one reasonable revision that does not materially change the established scope, design criteria or equipment requirements. Additional revisions and material changes are additional services. MEE will identify material changes and obtain authorization for the applicable additional fee before proceeding.

Are additional design fees eligible for equipment credit?

Fees for customer-requested revisions, redesign, scope changes or corrections to customer-provided information are not credit-eligible unless MEE expressly approves eligibility in writing. These additional fees remain earned and non-refundable. They do not extend or restart the credit period for previous fees without MEE’s written approval.

Can I use the drawings for competitive bidding or another supplier?

Design documents may be used only for the specific project and purpose authorized by the applicable design level and written proposal. Competitive bidding, third-party procurement or construction independent of an MEE equipment purchase requires prior written authorization. MEE may require a separate document licensing fee, which is not creditable toward an equipment purchase.

Who owns the design documents, and who may receive them?

MEE retains ownership of its design documents and underlying intellectual property. Subject to the agreement and full payment, customers receive a limited license for the authorized project and purpose. Documents may be shared with project participants who reasonably require access for an authorized purpose, subject to confidentiality and use restrictions. Customers are responsible for unauthorized use by recipients to whom they provide the documents.

Are PE-sealed drawings included?

Unless expressly stated in the written proposal, the three design levels do not constitute professional engineering services and do not include PE-sealed documents. When required, MEE may coordinate services through a qualified third-party Professional Engineer. Applicable engineering fees, coordination fees and related expenses require customer approval before engagement.

What information should I provide?

Provide your current site or dock layout, slip quantities and anticipated power requirements, utility service information, existing equipment details, expansion plans, project schedule and any known permitting or PE-seal requirements. Accurate information helps establish the design scope. Changes to previously approved information may require additional services.

Let’s define your project.

Tell us about your marina and the electrical equipment you anticipate needing. We’ll evaluate the requirements and prepare a project-specific design proposal.

Have these details ready

  • Project location and current site or dock layout
  • Slip counts and anticipated electrical loads
  • Utility service and existing equipment information
  • Expansion plans, schedule and permitting requirements

Submitting an inquiry or questionnaire does not authorize design work. Services begin after approval of a written proposal or written authorization to proceed, subject to applicable payment requirements.
